Swiss cheese, swiss army knife, Swiss Miss.. Swiss balm? Yes! The masterminds behind Weleda have brought to us another addition to the Swiss product family, and it might possibly be the most important addition of all. Unless you happen to be a huge fan of swiss cheese, which I’m not. At all.
PRICE: $5.00 at Amazon
PACKAGING: I’m sure we’re all familiar with the Nivea line of lip products, and the shape of their tubes. Well, this is similar to that. Long, sheath-like cap, except this one isn’t rounded like the one made by Nivea. It’s a very plain tube, actually. Small logo, small brand name, no ingredients listed (these are listed on the card the lip balm is attached to). Kind of boring, but who said a tube of lip balm needed to be exciting?
TEXTURE/GLIDE: I’ll be honest with you (’cause that’s what I’m hear to do).. This has a terrible glide. It doesn’t exactly glide. You have to really pull it along to get any coverage whatsoever. The texture is a little creamy, and a lot heavy. Not exactly the most pleasant feeling balm on the planet.
SMELL/FLAVOR: This might be one of the worst smelling balms, but I’m sure someone out there digs the smell of old potpourri. Somewhere in this world, probably living in a shack in the middle of the woods with only cats for friends..
LASTING POWER: Three hours, plus. It’s a long lasting balm, but that would be because of how thick the stuff is.
INGREDIENTS: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Beeswax (Cera Flava), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Rosa Damascena Flower Wax, Copernica Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Rosa Damascena Extract. (taken from Smallflower)
OVERALL: I’m not a fan of this. I have heard great things about the balm, but this just isn’t doing it for me whatsoever.

Love your blog (being a fellow addict myself), but I find myself disagreeing on a couple of points, but I suppose everybody sees, smells and balms differently!
To the glide, I too found it a bit stiff and horrid to drag across lips, but after a time using it, and keeping it in my pocket, it’s turned delightfully smooth and creamy, and doesn’t apply too heavily now. I can see why that would be a bit of a downer.
The smell point is actually interesting, as I always thought it smelt like sweet roses, rather than potpourri, but hey, to each their own.
It’s very much a long-time use balm, because even I’ll state the start is awful. :< Lu.F(Quote)
Thanks for your comment! I’m glad you like my blog.
I’ll continue to use it, and hopefully it gets better! I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, so I was surprised that my experience wasn’t too great. I’ll see if it improves, though! Balmaholic(Quote)
thanks for a very accurate review of this product. I bought it recently and experienced the same type of ‘glide’. I will probably use this during the warm summer months as I like that type of lip balm. I love the softer ones too but find in the summer they just don’t last as long. thanks for all the reviews ! I can’t remember what I spent on this balm, but I remember feeling gouged for the return.
Yes: Horrible dry grainy glide, and the smell reminds me of Granny’s pink rose sachet and underpants drawer at the rest home. Kris(Quote)
