I’m trying to broaden my horizons a bit here at Balmaholic (because I love having more products to review). So, here we have a lipgloss, brought to you by TINte Cosmetics. Now, I am by no means a big lipgloss fan. I don’t like having lips that resemble patent leather, because I’m not a spring chicken anymore and I don’t plan on standing on any street corners, if you catch my drift. Plus, I find so many of them are extremely drying and therefore have no place on this blog. I’m not here to help your lips resemble the Sahara, you know? But this is one gloss I will encourage the usage of, and if you keep reading, you’ll find out why.
PRICE: $17.00 at TINte. Yes, I know the price is ridiculous.
PACKAGING: It’s in your typical tube of lipgloss. .17oz of glossy goodness, and believe me, that .17oz goes a looong way. Each gloss is packaged in it’s own cardboard tube (as seen above), which makes it pretty handy for storing amongst your other glosses — easy to spot them in the midst of a bunch of clones, you know? This gloss uses the doe-foot style applicator (see here for example), which I could take or leave. I prefer this over the plastic slant-tip applicator, for sure. The actual tube of gloss is pretty straight-forward and not too eventful.. Brand name, product name, a teeny logo (and I should mention that the logo is adorable), and a nice metal screw-on cap. Simple, to the point, and awfully stylish.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: This is really the part that always keeps me from using lipgloss. It always seems to be so sticky and tacky and goopy and UGH. And don’t you just hate when you’re walking along, the wind blows, and all your hair gets stuck in your gloss? Attractive. So, admittedly, I was really skeptical about trying this stuff out. I was fully prepared to send myself diving into a tube of gloppy, sticky, messiness. Much to my surprise, that’s not what I found. First of all, the glide is incredibly smooth and easy to apply. No sticking, no tugging.. You’d think the stuff was liquid. The texture is very creamy. It’s not at all sticky, but it is a gloss, so you can expect some sticking if the wind blows. It’s not very thick, but you can still detect that you’re wearing something on your lips. There is some serious shine here, and I apologize for not providing pictures.. But the shine is there in a tasteful way. It just seems a lot more adult than the tube of typical gloss. This is me, though, so don’t hate.
SMELL/FLAVOR: I unfortunately only have this in Double Bubble, but I would love to try some of the other flavors at some point. Double Bubble is a very true-to-life bubblegum scent, and it’s incredibly sweet on the taste buds. Needless to say, I love it.
LASTING POWER: This stuff has the potential to last, if you don’t drink or eat for awhile. I’d say about three hours or so. However, I’m not kidding when I say you will want to reapply and reapply and reapply, because this stuff smells and actually tastes pretty freakin’ amazing.
INGREDIENTS: I can’t find a complete list of ingredients anywhere, and I’m fairly certain that it’s not 100% natural or anything. But whatever it contains, it feels freakin’ good.
ANYTHING ELSE: This is tinted, and I can’t comment on the color, ’cause you know. Colorblind. I also need to express how much this stuff softens and makes your lips feel amazing, which is why I’m choosing to put it up here. To me, this easily doubles as a balm. Easily.
OVERALL: This turns me into a lipgloss fan. No joke. I am completely obsessed with this stuff and find myself using it way more often than I thought I would. It’s playful, it feels awesome, it smells incredible, it softens amazingly.. I wish it wasn’t so much money, but I can honestly say it’s worth it for the awesome quality.
