I’m not sure if anybody has noticed, but I’ve been branching out a little bit and trying to get myself trying more of the tub-balms. I know lots of people like those, for whatever reason, and I need to cater to all people. So, here I am, reviewing another tub-balm. And not only is this a tub-balm, but it’s a cute-as-hell tub-balm. I mean, plaid!
To the lumberjack balmaholics, this one’s especially for you.
PRICE: $9.00 at nettiescrub
PACKAGING: A .5oz tin with a screw-on lid. I like screw-on lids. Less chance of it popping off. The label on the lid is adorable. A simple plaid sticker. The short list of ingredients is on a label on the bottom of the tin.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: When I first stick my finger in this tin, I expect the texture to be a little gritty. Rough, even. Because that’s how it feels when I rub my finger on the balm while it’s in the tin. But surprisingly, when glided on to my lips, it feels good. Really, really good. Light, smooth, creamy.
SMELL/FLAVOR: I have this in Earthberry (also available in Mojito, Limoncello, and Cinnamoncitron). Now, when you think “Earthberry”, you think, uh, berry, right? In this case, you’d be wrong. Because this lip balm is lime, and supposedly vanilla. I don’t smell like vanilla, though. I just smell a sweet, light lime. It’s great, but what’s up with that name?
LASTING POWER: About an hour, hour and a half. Not an incredibly long time, but I don’t mind reapplying when it feels this good.
OVERALL: I’m actually pretty in love with this product, and I’d like to check out the other flavors. However, I’m not too happy with that pricetag. But what can ya do, right?
