MAC products are something I recieve requests for pretty regularly. They are also something I am trying to get a little more into. ‘Cause I mean, everybody knows they’re good. Honestly, though, I also think some of their stuff is a little overrated. But there are a few things that I have already tried that I think are totally worth the hype and the money. This is one of them.
PRICE: $14.50 at MAC
PACKAGING: Here we have a .5oz tub o’ balm, and damn, it’s stylish. Black screw-on lid, clear bottom. Very sleek looking and just mmm. Yeah. “Mmm.” I personally love MAC packaging, with that fancy uppercase logo written on the side. It makes you really feel like you bought something luxurious, even though there are more expensive products out there. My tub of lip conditioner is actually from MAC’s Hello Kitty collection from a year or so ago, so there’s a cute little outline of Hello Kitty on the lid. You know you’re jealous.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: You could use a lip brush for this, I suppose, but I use my finger. Holy moly. So, the glide is awesome. Very easy, very smooth. Texture is probably one of the best out there. Very creamy, a little on the light side, very moisturizing. It feels expensive and I really love that feeling.
SMELL/FLAVOR: It smells nicely of sweet vanilla. I’ve never met someone that didn’t like the way this stuff smells.
LASTING POWER: It really depends. The texture is a little light, so you can’t expect really impressive lasting power. But if you don’t do too much eating or drinking, you can get it to stretch a little. I’ve had it last me up to about two hours without needing desperately to reapply. Honestly, though, it feels so awesome that I don’t mind reapplying at all.
INGREDIENTS: Some of the ingredients listed on the site are: Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, vitamins A and E.
ANYTHING ELSE: This contains SPF 15, and it’s tinted. Hence the title.
OVERALL: Lovelovelove. Would I call it the best lip balm in the world? Nah, but it’s definitely awesome and has a permanent spot in my bag. I’ve had this stuff in my bag since I bought it and I use it pretty regularly, which is why I’m a little surprised it’s taken me this long to review it. I recommend this to everybody looking to try something a little more luxurious. Totally worth it.
