Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for my absence. I’ve been dealing with some personal issues, and unfortunately, the need to review wasn’t on my list of priorities. You know, as a Balmaholic, I love writing my reviews, but sometimes life has to come first. But here I am, trying to get back into the swing of things with an awesome product from Leaf & Rusher.
PRICE: $21.00 at Leaf & Rusher
PACKAGING: Here you have a little tub that’s packaged in a little box. All of the balm’s info is featured on the box (ingredients and whatnot), but who actually keeps the box? Not I. The little tub features a screw-on lid, so no worries about it popping off in your bag or pocket. There is an “LR” logo on the lid, and on the bottom of the tub is a small label, telling you what the product is. Nothing fancy.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: This is an exfoliating balm, so duh, the texture isn’t going to be the most creamy on the face of the planet. ‘Cause it’s not supposed to be. However, it’s not rough, either. I’ve had some exfoliating balms with their little sugar crystals that seriously felt like they were ripping my skin off, and that’s not the case here. They’re a lot more gentle, and that, I do like. Once the sugar crystals dissolve, you’re left with a creamy, soft balm on your lips. Very nice.
SMELL/FLAVOR: This has a, uh, “sugared vanilla” scent to it. Very sweet, and very good.
LASTING POWER: Well, that’s pretty much up to you. If you want to use it as an exfoliator and nothing more, then it lasts for a few seconds before you wipe it off. But if you leave it on after the crystals dissolve, it lasts for about an hour, hour and a half.
INGREDIENTS: Not on the site.
ANYTHING ELSE: Not only does this exfoliate and moisturize, but supposedly, it’ll plump ‘em up as well. I’m not sure about that, considering my lips are already pretty, er, plump, but who knows.
OVERALL: As an exfoliator, this stuff works really well. I love how gentle it is. As a moisturizer, though, I do prefer using something else. Not because this doesn’t work well, but because other moisturizers work better. Altogether, though, this is a great product that works well and smells great.
