Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm

Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm

Sometimes I buy a balm, and immediately after, I wonder why. What part of my conscience talked me into buying it? But even still, there are times when I wonder why, but after trying it, I’m satisfied with my impulse buy and I move on with my little life.

However, I’m still wondering why with this one.

PRICE: $2.41 at VitaNet. I really have no idea how I stumble across these really random online stores. It’s a gift.

PACKAGING: Well, it’s your standard-sized tube, this time with your top-dial. Nothing too fancy there. The label itself just feels busy to me. So much squeezed on there.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Does the phrase “wax on, wax off” mean anything to you? From what I can read off of this very tiny list of ingredients, there are three types of wax dumped into this little tube, and I sure can feel it. The glide is nonexistant, the texture is disgusting, and it’s sticky on my lips. I can’t say “ew” enough.

SMELL/FLAVOR: I’m not a huge fan of strong honey scents, which probably should’ve been my first thought when buying this balm. But the logical side of me thought that perhaps the vanilla in it would make the honey a little less nauseating. But here I am, smelling this stuff really hard, and I’m not smelling vanilla. Hell, I’m not smelling honey either. What I’m smelling right now is something similar to chlorine. Floral chlorine.

LASTING POWER: I kind of wouldn’t know. Whatever I manage to rub off onto my lips from the tube gets wiped off almost immediately. It’s that gross. But I will safely assume that due to the waxiness of this balm, it would last a long, long time.

ANYTHING ELSE: Uh, well, it’s made with SPF 15, and it’s organic. See, I try to find the good in everything.

OVERALL: This is my first, and last, lip balm from Kiss My Face. I’m slightly disappointed, because the brand name is adorable. But you know what? There are plenty of other adorable brand names out there. I can afford to pass one up.

  • I made the mistake of buying a BUNCH of Kiss My Face balms at once one time… and was sorely disappointed with all of them EXCEPT two. They were all waxy and nasty smelling/tasting (this flavor, orange cranberry, and ginger something or other).

BUT the peach flavor and the spearmint flavors are both awesome. They are not waxy. The peach smells delish and the spearmint gives a tingly sensation kind of like Burts Bees and is WAY more smooth than BB’s. They are definitely worth the buy if you can get over the grossness of the honey vanilla!  (Quote)

    • Wow, I’m glad that I didn’t buy a lot of these at once. That would be such a waste of money. I’m sorry you were suckered into their cheap pricetag. :(

Maybe I’ll have to give the Peach and Spearmint flavors a shot sometime..  (Quote)
