Hugo Naturals Lip Balm

Hugo Naturals Lip Balm

You know what I think of when I look at this lip balm? I think of Lost. I think of Lost, and I think of Hurley, who’s actual name just happens to be Hugo. And if you have absolutely no idea who or what I’m talking about, I suggest you crawl yourself out from underneath your cozy little rock and watch every episode of that show, ’cause seriously, it’s the cat’s pajamas.

Erm, anyway.. Yes, Hugo Naturals is the name of this company. And it’s lip balm is, well.. Why don’t you just read on and find out?

PRICE: $3.49 at Hugo Naturals

PACKAGING: Your standard sized tube. Seriously, I love the design of the labels. They certainly have that “natural” flair to them. The company logo is my favorite, by far, with it’s butterfly and ivy branchs coming off the sides. It’s so tastefully done. The flavor name is boldly printed, but not huge, and certainly not overpowering. The ingredient list is also readable, and we all know how that grants you points in my balm book. Definitely, definitely, definitely an awesome tube.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: The glide is absolutely amazing. It’s soft, and creamy, and glides on easily without being slippery. And the texture! It’s the perfect balance between light and thick, and it sits on your lips comfortably. I think more balms should feel like this, honestly. You can just feel how it’s making your lips softer.

SMELL/FLAVOR: This is where my beef lies. Everything about this balm is amazing, except for the scents. There are four flavors: Spearmint Zest, Vanilla & Sweet Orange, Pineapple & Coconut, and Grapefruit Splash. Spearmint Zest is slightly spearmint-y, with a slight citrus undertone. Grapefruit Splash smells a bit like grapefruit. Not the strongest smelling balm ever, but I’m not complaining, considering I’m not exactly a fan of grapefruit. Of the four, this is by far my favorite. Vanilla & Sweet Orange and Pineapple & Coconut are, well, incredibly faint. Every now and then, I catch a hint of what might be orange, or what might be pineapple, but it leaves as soon as it enters my nostrils. In other words, they need a little more oomph.

LASTING POWER: The awesome texture of this balm makes it a long-lasting one. About three hours, give or take.

INGREDIENTS: I’d love to provide you all with a list of ingredients, but it doesn’t look like there is one on the site. I assure you, though, they’re natural.

OVERALL: I’d be a huge fan of this balm, if there was something to smell. The formula used is amazing, and they have something great going here. Buuut if you’re gonna give a balm a scent name, give it some scent.
