Hawaiian Bath & Body Lip Balm

Hawaiian Bath & Body Lip Balm

Aloha! When it comes to lip balm, I take it’s homeland into account. Who doesn’t want an exotic lip balm created by the hands of little village women in the jungles of Africa? Exactly — nobody. I feel the same way about this here lip balm from Hawaiian Bath & Body. Who doesn’t want to go to Hawaii? Exactly — nobody. But in this economy, who really has the money to afford a vacation? So, why not slather on some awesome lip balm from Hawaii, and pretend?

PRICE: $2.50 at Hawaiian Bath & Body

PACKAGING: Your standard sized tube. Er, well, okay, this is .17oz as opposed to .15oz, but close enough. The tube has a very tropical feel, displaying palm fronds (I really hope they’re palm fronds, or else I’m going to feel pretty darn stupid) as the main image above the company logo, as well as around the tube’s cap. The flavor name is written in bold font, so there’s no chance of missing it, and even the ingredients are written in a font that’s not impossible to read. Which, as you know, is always a complaint of mine. So, although not the most stylish of tubes, it’s pleasant to the eye, and you can definitely read what’s in it.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: At first glide, it’s a bit tough. You have to give it a wee nudge to get it going, but once it goes, it really goes. Very smooth glide. The texture is slightly on the heavy side, but not unpleasantly so. Very creamy.

SMELL/FLAVOR: There are six of these: Kukui, Sugar Cane, Coconut Cream, Ocean Mint, Tangerine, and Pineapple. Kukui is a very faint, earthy smell. I’m honestly not entirely sure what this is supposed to smell like, so I can’t really give a fair opinion. Sugar Cane smells like it’s name: sugar. Very sweet, and definitely one of my favorites. Coconut Cream reminds me of a Mounds bar. I don’t even like those, but I love the smell of this balm. Very creamy smelling. Ocean Mint is a very crisp peppermint. Very natural. Tangerine isn’t the best tangerine scented balm I’ve had, but still, not bad. There is a waxy undertone to it, but easy to overlook. Pineapple is a very sweet pineapple, and I’m definitely a fan. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like pineapple.

LASTING POWER: Due to the heavy texture of the balm, it lasts about two and a half hours, give or take depending on if you decide to eat or drink at all in that time.

INGREDIENTS: Every one of the balms contains different oils depending on the flavor, but they all contain: Mango butter, Coconut oil, Sweet Almond oil, Beeswax, Hawaiian Macadamia nut & Kukui nut oils, Vitamin E.

OVERALL: A great balm that won’t break the bank. My only complaint is that there is no SPF in a balm made in Hawaii, but this is coming from a person who’s never even in the sun, so who am I to complain?
