The other half in The Grapeseed Company’s lip balm duo. You can read about the benefits of using products with grapeseed oil in my review on their Sweet Lips balm.
PRICE: $4.50 at The Grapeseed Company
PACKAGING: I’m not sure if you’ve been noticing, but I’ve been more and more into cute little tub-balms recently. At .4oz (the website says .5oz, though), you get a pretty decent amount of balm in this cute little tin. The lid easily slides off, but not so easily that you have to worry about a mess being made in your bag, which is good. I like security, you know. The label on the top is cute, with “hot lips” written in lowercase font and a cute “g/seed” logo in the background. Very simple but to the point. The label on the bottom has the ingredients written in impossibly tiny font, of course.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: Very easily applied from your finger to your lips. It has a very smooth, light, pleasant texture on the lips and even though this is meant to be a plumping lip balm, it doesn’t irritate your lips the way other cinnamon-based plumping balms do.
SMELL/FLAVOR: I’m a crafty person, believe it or not, and I especially love frequenting the craft stores during the Christmas season. This lip balm reminds me of a craft store during that time. It has a light cinnamon scent to it. It’s very nice. Almost makes me want winter. Almost.
LASTING POWER: Despite the light texture, it lasts a reasonable amount of time. In comparison to other light-textured balms, anyway. About an hour, an hour and a half or so.
INGREDIENTS: beeswax, shea butter, avacado butter, sweet almond oil, meadowfoam oil, evening primrose oil, rosehip, aloe, grapeseed oil, pink mica, essential oil & essences (taken from The Grapeseed Company)
ANYTHING ELSE: This is a naturally plumping lip balm. I already have pretty full lips, so if there’s any plumping action going on, it’s not really noticable for me. Maybe slightly, but that could be in my head. Also, this has a natural pink tint to it. How it looks, I don’t know. Colorblind, remember.
OVERALL: Even though I’m not 100% sure about it’s plumping abilities, it’s not a bad balm, in terms of moisturizing. Plus, it smells really awesome.
