I’ll be totally honest with you, guys.. The thing that drew me the most to this balm was the fact that pretty much everything on the tube was lowercase. Silly, yes, but you know, sometimes it’s okay to be silly. Sometimes silliness pays off, though, and you find yourself faced with a really aweome lip balm. Other times.. Not so much. Which catagory does this balm from gloskincare/glominerals fall under? You’ll just have to find out..
PRICE: $12.00 at gloskincare (I know the tube looks different but trust me, it’s the same thing)
PACKAGING: Um, can we say “huge”? Like, seriously. This .5oz tube-o-balm is enormous. I’d like to meet someone with lips this enormous (wait, no..that’d be a little terrifying). Looking at this thing from a top-view, I’d say it’s about the size of a quarter. I mean, I guess it’s cool that I can sloppily balm both of my lips at once, but come on. This is just a little ridiculous. Otherwise, though, the tube is nicely simple. Says right on there, plain as day, what this product is and there’s a nice, simple outline of a mint leaf. Really nothing more to comment on, honestly. I do like the label, though. Pretty nice.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The glide is very slick. Kinda slides right on, as opposed to actually gliding. Not a hater, but not a huge fan. The texture is where my beef really lies.. It has this noticable grittiness to it, and I do not like grit, unless it’s an exfoliator. Last time I checked, this wasn’t, so what’s up with that? The light-textured balm surrounding the grit is nice, but obviously, it’s hard to look past the fact that my lips are now feeling much like sandpaper.
SMELL/FLAVOR: When they called this “the mint balm”, they weren’t joking. This has a nice, natural minty scent that doesn’t burn the sinuses, or the lips.
LASTING POWER: It’s pretty light, and there is a lot of grit, so.. I’m not really prone to leaving this on for too long, therefore I’m not 100% sure of how long it lasts. My guess? It’s a tad on the light side, so it would last maybe an hour, hour and a half.
INGREDIENTS: I honestly can’t find the full list of ingredients anywhere, and as usual, the font is a little too tiny to copy.
ANYTHING ELSE: Well, one good thing this has going for it is SPF 15. Whoopie?
OVERALL: Well.. Yeah, no sir, I’m not a huge fan. It’s too big, too gritty, and not enough of anything good to make up for the bad. Especially for that price. No way.

If you are a balm addict, you must try Too Faced Cosmetics Beauty Balm. It is in a great little pink tin with the most amazing, thick and slightly tinted balm. I am addicted to it and have one in my purse for wherever I go as well as next to my couch at home where I can layer on more for the smoothest lips ever. It has no SPF, so it is not for a day out in the sun, but definately great for when you get home from that day in the sun and want to sooth your dry lips! JuliJo(Quote)
Interesting review. I am addicted to glominerals mint balm (maybe it’s the hemp seed oil – LOL). I am really surprised that you found it gritty because I buy several a year and have never had one that was gritty. The size is one of the things I love about it but I can see where it’s not for everyone. If you are an outdoorsy kind of girl like me, the bigger tube is pretty handy, not to mention the SPF – especially if you like to be outdoors in the winter. Nothing worse than trying to handle some little tube with cold fingers or gloves. Diane(Quote)
