fenix SPF 20 Lip Treatment

fenix SPF 20 Lip Treatment

I figured that a product with SPF 20 would be perfect for these summer months, except that I chose to review this on a day where the sun hasn’t shown it’s glorious face all darn day. But alas, the show must go on, and as I review this, I’ll simply pretend that the sun is shining through my window, and blinding me as I type this review for all of you lovely people. And without further ado..

PRICE: $25.00 at fenix cosmetics. Now, right off the bat, I will say that this is ridiculously priced. But if you wish to refinance your house to buy yourself some balm, then knock yourself out.

PACKAGING: A whoppin’ .33oz tube. It’s one of those fat ones. And this label is..erm..bland. Very bland. First, I do like that the company name is large and in lowercase letters. You know I like that. The product name is simple to read, easy to notice. But the rest is just so blah. No personality.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Although I’ve done nothing so far but bitch about this balm, let me just say that the glide is a little piece of heaven. I have never experienced a glide like this from a balm before in my life. It is so perfectly smooth and easy. Not greasy, not tough, not hard, not too soft.. It’s pretty much what I’d call “amazing”. The texture is, uh, delicious. I hate using that word, but seriously, it was the first word that popped into my head. It’s amazingly creamy and smooth, and at the moment, I can’t imagine wanting anything else on my lips.

SMELL/FLAVOR: I cannot for the life of me think of what this smells like. It has a sort of powder-y, perfume-y scent to it. Perhaps the SPF? I don’t know. I really love the way it smells, though.

LASTING POWER: Judging from the creaminess and semi-lightness of this balm, I expected something that wouldn’t last all that long. But it has gone a good hour and a half so far, and for that, I’d say I’m pretty impressed.

INGREDIENTS: You can find them here. They disabled the copy ‘n paste function. Poo.

OVERALL: Do I think this stuff is a tad overpriced? Yes. But do I think it’s absolutely incredible? Uh, yes. I’m feeling a little pathetic at the moment for being so giddy over the glide and feel and smell of a balm, but really, it’s freakin’ glorious. I do wish they’d cut back the price a bit, but otherwise.. Great balm, especially for those sunny, beachy days (not today).
