We all love products that are good for us. We especially all love products that are good for us, AND work well. That’s where companies like dropwise essentials come in. While I haven’t exactly had the pleasure of using their other products, their lip balm has certainly proven itself, in my eyes (although I guess that’s not really saying much, considering my eyes don’t exactly work that well).
PRICE: $6.50 at dropwise essentials
PACKAGING: A .33oz clear plastic little tub with a screw-on cap. The label on top features the brand logo on a raindrop background, which is adorable, and the flavor name. The bottom label lists the ingredients, and that’s about it. Not too much to mention here, but not much to complain about either. Sometimes simplicity is best.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The glide from finger to lip is pretty awesome. It smooths on easily, and feels great once on. The texture is light, but not the type of light that needs to be reapplied constantly. It moisturizes incredibly and feels great.
SMELL/FLAVOR: This is available in four flavors: Orange Dream, Luscious Lime, Licorice Mint, and Peppermint Pattie. Orange Dream smells pretty much just like a creamsicle. A perfect blend of orange and vanilla. Luscious Lime is a very nice sweet lime flavor. Licorice Mint is one I didn’t expect to like, but I really do. It actually reminds me of something I used to eat when I was a little kid. Can’t think of what that might be, though. It’s a sharp scent, and a mix between, duh, black licorice and mint. It kinda hit me a little hard at first, but the more I smell it, the more I like it. Peppermint Pattie doesn’t smell as much like chocolate as I would hope, but there is a slight hint of the chocolate behind the intense peppermint. And by “intense peppermint”, I don’t mean that it’s harsh by any means. It’s just very prominent.
LASTING POWER: Like I said, it’s very light. But you can still feel the remnants of balm for a good while after applying, about two and a half hours. I do like to reapply often, though, just to make sure it’s still doing it’s job.
INGREDIENTS: Certified organic jojoba oil, certified organic extracts of calendula and chamomile, certified organic virgin coconut oil, certified organic cocoa butter, certified organic castor oil, beeswax, stevia, 100% pure essential oils. (taken from dropwise)
OVERALL: This stuff is great. It’s organic, it smells good, it feels good, and it moisturizes amazingly. Definitely gets an A+ from me.
