Canus Goat’s Milk Lip Balm

Canus Goat’s Milk Lip Balm

I didn’t want to write another review so soon, but after receiving this in the mail today with my Drugstore.com order, I was too excited not to. And I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “Eww, goat’s milk?” Yes, I know that it sounds disgusting, and in a small way, I can’t believe I actually slathered this stuff on my mouth. But regardless of how much the thought of putting goat’s milk on my lips kind of grosses me out, the experience was pleasant.

PRICE: $2.69 at Drugstore.com.

PACKAGING: Once again, here we have the standard sized tube. Nothing about it really stands out to me, except that it’s written in both English and French, and that there’s an awfully cute picture of a goat (the goat on the tube is not sporting the stylish sunglasses that the goat on the card is wearing).

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Smooth as butter (or in this case, goat’s milk). Glides on nicely. Not too slippery, not too tough. We’ll call it “juuust right”.

SMELL/FLAVOR: This is why I had to post. It’s minty. I never would’ve expected it to be so minty, but it is. My first reaction was, “Oh my God, it smells like those chewable Imodium tablets”, which really wasn’t a pleasant thought whatsoever. In fact, it made me feel a little on the nauseous side. But then, my sister got a good whiff, and she said, “Oh my God, it smells like that old Elmer’s paste that kids used to eat!” And by George, she’s right. This stuff smells exactly like Elmer’s paste, and with that thought in mind, it doesn’t make me feel so nauseous anymore. Instead, I’m feeling kind of hungry. In a good way.

LASTING POWER: In terms of lasting power, this stuff is on par with the Energizer Bunny. It keeps going, and going, and going.. I applied about three hours ago, and I still feel it there. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself.

OVERALL: I have found that goat’s milk is pretty awesome. This stuff moisturizes and soothes chapped lips very nicely. I wouldn’t say that it’s the greatest moisturizing balm on the planet, but it’s certainly perfect for the winter months.
