I love rooting for the little guy. I love these cute little independant companies that reach out to their customers with great appreciation. I really love that. Makes me want to keep coming back for more. Which I usually do, because I am meant to keep my bank account and wallet as miserable as humanly possible.
I have several lip balms from Cactus & Ivy, and at first, I was going to combine all of them into one review. But they’re each pretty different from the others, so I decided to do separate reviews for each of them.
PRICE: $3.00 at Cactus & Ivy
PACKAGING: Standard sized tube (don’t you get sick of me saying that?). I really love this company’s logo. It’s very natural and relaxing to look at. The flavor and ingredients are written in bold lettering, making them a little easier to read than some other brands out there.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The glide is very smooth. I’ll even say it’s slick. The texture is incredibly, incredibly light. I’ll even say it’s too light, and I’ll get to why in a moment.
SMELL/FLAVOR: Very minty. This lip balm blends spearmint and peppermint, and every time I smell it, I have this nagging little voice in my head telling me that it reminds me of something. But I can’t remember for the life of me what it is, and this annoys me. It’s a pleasant smell, though. Some companies go very wrong with their mint-scented lip balms, but this is good. Very minty while not being too harsh.
LASTING POWER: This is where my problem with the light texture comes in. The texture is so light and moisturizing that it just gets sucked into my lips shortly after applying. I’d say it lasts about a half hour or so, and I need to reapply.
OVERALL: This balm is moisturizing, smells good, and light. Just a wee bit too light. A little less thin, and I’d say it’s amazing.

Hey Kelsey!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to review Cactus & Ivy lip balms. Your review has just confirmed that a few of the balms will be getting a makeover, as I mentioned when I sent them. At the time, I was considering and now I am doing! I have figured out what is making the balms grainy.
Once I have re-formulated the lip balms with issues, I will send you samples to review again. I like 5 out of 5 and I will not stop until all Cactus & Ivy lip balms are the “BALM”…get it? Hah!!
Thanks again and have a great day!

Hi Lisa!
I’m glad I could help! I’m sure the new formulas will be awesome! I’m excited to try them again, once they’ve been improved.
