C.O. Bigelow Soda Fountain Mentha Lip Shine

C.O. Bigelow Soda Fountain Mentha Lip Shine

I think I have yet to find a person who hates all C.O. Bigelow products. I think everybody has at least one that they think fondly of. This, so far, would be mine.

PRICE: $7.50 at Bigelow Chemists

PACKAGING: This is the standard C.O. Bigelow .5oz squeeze tube. This one is clear, unlike most of their other Mentha Lip Shine tubes, and I like this aspect. Much easier to see how much gloss/balm you have left. Although this aspect does make a little hard to read the writing on the tube. The contrast of the font and color of the gloss/balm makes it a little difficult for me to read anything, but let’s not be too picky. The brand name, product name, and flavor name are all clearly visible and printed in such a way that it doesn’t make much of a difference, and the rest of it, as far as I’m concerned, is just fluff. Of course, on the back, I can’t for the life of me read the ingredients, but again, let’s not be too picky.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Like all other squeeze-balms, I apply with my finger, so this is based off of that.. The glide really isn’t bad. It smooths on pretty easily without being sticky or very tacky. The texture is, like I said, not sticky or very tacky. It’s pretty creamy, but a little on the thick side. Not in a bad way, necessarily, but definitely thick. I will also say that this has some serious shine and sparkle to it, so be warned.

SMELL/FLAVOR: I only have this in Marshmallow Sundae, and the best way I can describe it is.. Think of Fresh Mint Tic Tacs. Minty, but sweet. It’s really amazing.

LASTING POWER: Because this, to me, is more of a gloss than a balm, I don’t really expect it to have incredible lasting power. But it really isn’t bad, if you don’t eat or drink anything. Without doing anything to mess up your gloss, it’ll last for a good couple of hours or so.

INGREDIENTS: I can’t find a complete list of ingredients, but it isn’t natural.

OVERALL: This is a decent product. I like the way it feels and like all C.O. Bigelow products, it does a really nice job at moisturizing. I can’t say I like spending $7.50 on it, but you can often find them for sale at Bath & Body Works and if you do catch them on sale, they’re totally worth it, in my opinion.
