Body Shop Nutmeg & Vanilla Lip Balm (HOLIDAY EXCLUSIVE)

Body Shop Nutmeg & Vanilla Lip Balm (HOLIDAY EXCLUSIVE)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.. Well, okay, I’m not much into the holiday season. I know, I know.. It’s a little disappointing to find out that your beloved Balmaholic is a Scrooge. This year, it’s just a little depressing, though, and I just can’t help it. However, the holidays are wonderful for bringing in exclusive beauty products, particularly lip balm, and I’m certainly a fan of that.

PRICE: $8.00 each at The Body Shop

PACKAGING: .45oz of amazing balmy goodness in an awesomely adorable tin. I don’t think I really need to go in too much detail about this tin, as you can clearly seen in the picture pretty much everything it has to offer. The design is fantastic, and it’s a pretty large tin, so this stuff will be lasting you awhile but I wouldn’t recommend keeping it in your pocket, unless you don’t mind a little buldge. The lid doesn’t screw on, but it doesn’t easily pop off, so there shouldn’t be too much concern about it floating around in your bag.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Like all Body Shop lip balms that I’ve tried so far, this gives some pretty fantastic glide. It’s easily retrieved from the tin, although it’s a bit on the goopy side, and it’s easily spread onto the lips. It feels very smooth and creamy in texture while on, and it’s not too heavy or too light. Yeah, I’d say it’s about just right. There are little flecks of glitter throughout the balm, so if you’re a person who doesn’t want a little bit of noticable shimmer and shine on your lips, then I wouldn’t recommend this one.

SMELL/FLAVOR: Oh, it’s really good. It’s spicy, which would be the nutmeg. And yet, it has just enough sweetness to keep it from being too over the top, aaand that would be the vanilla. At first whiff, it almost smells a bit like lipstick (c’mon, you know what I’m talking about), but not in a bad way, and that initial reaction quickly goes away when you start noticing the spices and sweetness and mmm.. Yeah, it’s good.

LASTING POWER: I’m not so sure how long the shimmer and shine lasts, but the balm itself lasts for a good two hours or so. Definitely not bad at all.

INGREDIENTS: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Lanolin, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Flavor, Silica, Benzyl Benzoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Limonene, Myristica Fragrans (Nutmeg) Extract, Eugenol, Tocopherol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Bismuth Oxychloride. OVERALL: Yeeeah, this stuff is good. It feels good, softens well, moisturizes nicely, and it smells amazing. I almost wish it wasn’t an exclusive, but this tin is so big, it’ll likely last me until next Christmas.
