Firstly, I apologize for that very wee awful picture. This is no fault of the company, so don’t go screaming at them. I actually got the picture from some other website and I don’t have the tools to resize. So, um, deal.
This here is a product from Birdy Botanicals. Since receiving the lip butters, I have fallen a little in love with the company. I mean, come on. Cute, right? Even just the name makes me feel “aww”.
PRICE: $9 at Birdy Botanicals
PACKAGING: This is packaged in .5oz tins with a secure screw-on lid, so no worries about getting balm all over your bag or pocket or wherever you’re choosing to house your lip butter today. The label on the lid is simple but adorable, featuring the Birdy Botanicals bird logo, and the product and flavor names. There’s another label on the bottom of the tin, listing the ingredients, company website, and expiration date. Note to companies: You should ALL post the expiration date.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: Serious glide here, folks. Seriously good glide. Easily retrieved with your finger, and even easier application from your finger to your lips. The texture in the tin is a little off-putting, honestly, because it feels frothy. Like a light foam. Picture a latte. But on the lips, it’s creamy, soft, smooth, slightly on the light side.. It’s a beautiful thing.
SMELL/FLAVOR: This is available in four flavors: Gooseberry, Orange Vanilla, Sarsaparilla, and Honeydew. Gooseberry is a light but sweet berry scent. Orange Vanilla should smell like a creamsicle, right? Well, it doesn’t. It’s a little too on the sweet side, and it’s hard to detect the orange. Honestly, I’m not catching too much vanilla either. I’m not really complaining.. I just can’t quite grasp where the actual flavor name is in this scent. Sarsaparilla smells like home-brewed root beer. It reminds me of the time I went to this historic seaport in Connecticut with my boyfriend, and we got some old-fashioned root beer. It’s very good. Honeydew is, well, honeydew. And that’s a good thing, ’cause I really love honeydew.
LASTING POWER: Due to the light texture of the balm, I can’t really say it lasts all that long. About forty-five minutes to an hour. Not too bad, and really, I don’t mind. Reapplying isn’t exactly a problem.
INGREDIENTS: Can’t find the ingredients on the site, but I assure you, they’re all good for you.
OVERALL: Needless to say, I’m a fan. I do think the Orange Vanilla could use a little tweaking, but everything else? A+.

Would that historic Seaport be Mystic Seaport? I love it there. Their birch beer is really good, too! Georganne(Quote)
That would be correct! I’ve only been there once a few years ago, but I really enjoyed it when I went. Balmaholic(Quote)
I have been using Birdy Botanicals Lip Butter for a few years. I absolutely love it! All five of my sisters expect Birdy Botanical Lip Butter as a Mother’s day gift each year, since I introduced them to it. They all love it too! Our favorite is the Honey Dew. Bernadine(Quote)
