Okay, this is clearly something a little bit different. Now, don’t be afraid, and I’ll try to get through this with minimal typos. My spacebar decided to die today and, uh, yeah. Kinda makes this stuff a little difficult, you know?
PRICE: $19.50 at BeautiControl
PACKAGING: This is a 2-in-1 sort of deal. On the bottom, there’s a “lip peel”, designed to exfoliate and rid you of all those signs of aging (and at 24, believe me, I have oh-so many..). The cool thing is you get tons of the stuff (.1oz), and a little goes a long way. On the top, there’s .25oz of lip balm, and again, a little goes a long way. This thing is pretty big and you wouldn’t want to tote it around in your bag, but do you really need to be lugging around a lip treatment wherever you go? Probably not.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The absolute worst part about this product is sticking your finger in the lip peel and smoothing it over your lips. It’s white and semi-thick, so you are bound to get some of that left-over on your finger. But hey, like I said, you probably won’t be doing this anywhere other than in the comfort of your own home, so does it really matter? So, anyway, the glide of the lip peel is decent, but that doesn’t matter too much. The texture is somewhat thick and slightly uncomfortable at first, but once it dries, it’s all right. You let it dry completely, and you rub it off vigorously with your finger or a washcloth. Make sure it’s all off, and then apply the lip balm. The lip balm is nice ‘n creamy when it comes to glide, and on the lips, it feels awesome. Not too thin, not too thick. Very soft and creamy and smooth, especially since shortly before applying, you scraped off all that yucky dead skin.
SMELL/FLAVOR: The lip peel really doesn’t smell like much. Kind of on the “unscented lotion” side (you know, when a lotion claims it’s unscented but it still has a lotion-y smell). The lip balm smells slightly orange-y, but my sister and I both agreed that it smells somewhat like my late grandpa’s basement closet. That sounds horrible, but it brings back happy memories of playing pool and drinking ginger ale, and it wasn’t a bad smell, so.. As Martha would say, it’s a good thing.
LASTING POWER: Don’t worry about the lip peel. You’ll only have that on for a minute, at most. The lip balm lasts awhile. About two hours or so.
INGREDIENTS: Can’t find ‘em. Correct me if I’ve overlooked them somewhere.
OVERALL: Amazing product. While I might not totally benefit from it’s anti-aging qualities, it’s great as an exfoliator and moisturizer, and everybody can certainly benefit from that.
