Whenever I think of “Badger Balm”, I get that “Badger Badger Badger” song stuck in my head. And I swear, I am the only person on the face of the internet who can’t stand listening to that song. Argh..
Badger Balm is one of those companies that I have heard so many things about for quite some time, and just never got around to trying them. Call it laziness, call it procrastination, but whatever you call it, just know I regret not getting my hands on this stuff sooner.
This review is strictly for the Cocoa Butter variety.
PRICE: $5.00 at BadgerBalm.com
PACKAGING: The tubes for the Cocoa Butter Lip Balm are a bit bigger than your standard-size tube (.25oz), which means more for your money. There’s that top-dial as well, but unlike the Victoria’s Secret PINK Lip Butter, the top-dial isn’t loose and annoying to use. I’m still not the world’s biggest fan of top-dials, but I can deal when a product is worth it. My biggest complaint with the tube, though, would be how chunky and wide it is. It’s cute and comfortable to hold, until you have to apply it, and you find that you get too much balm on the skin around your lips. Not a fan of that. I love the labels on these balms, for two reasons. One, everything is written big. No magnifying glasses needed in reading the ingredients. And two, that badger. I kind of want to hug him, but alas, he’s only two-dimensional, and 2D images aren’t huggable.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The first time applying is a little tough. It needs a little shove to get it going, but after that initial push, it glides like a charm. The texture is smooth and creamy, and not at all uncomfortable.
SMELL/FLAVOR: The Cocoa Butter lip balm comes in five flavors, and luckily for you, I have them all: Cool Mint, Mocha Cocoa, Creamy Cocoa, Sweet Orange, and Lime Rocket. Cool Mint is just how you’d imagine it: crisp and minty. Mocha Cocoa smells like freshly ground coffee beans. Sweet Orange smells exactly like an orange. Creamy Cocoa smells a bit like a packet of Swiss Miss hot chocolate, and probably my least favorite of the bunch. Lime Rocket, however, is by far my favorite and smells exactly like a lime. I don’t know what’s been up with my sense of smell lately, but I’m in a “lime phase”. Mmm, lime..
LASTING POWER: About two and a half hours before you feel the need to reapply. I honestly found this to be a fair amount of time to wait between applications, considering how nice this stuff feels going on.
ANYTHING ELSE: Organic, and I know how much everybody is loving the organic thang these days.
OVERALL: After trying this out, I totally understand the hype around Badger. Cute, great formula, organic.. What’s there not to love? Okay, the chunky tube, but what can ya do?

I bought the Coffee Roast & Creamy Cocoa when I first saw them. Love them both. just be careful in the warmer weather, they will get soft. leaves a wonderful feeling on my lips and lasts a good amount of time. Lin Lin(Quote)
I love the creaminess of these, but the cocoa & cocoa mix flavors just aren’t for me. If they were somehow unscented and had a normal size tube, I would love them! G – Lip Balm JUNKIE(Quote)
