Acca Kappa SPF 30 Lip Balm

Acca Kappa SPF 30 Balm

Some more Italian luxury coming your way! Only this time, with a crapload more SPF. So, those of you who are beach bums are sure to benefit from this one..

PRICE: $7.50 at Acca Kappa

PACKAGING: As you can see in the picture, your lip balm arrives in a little cardboard box. The box provides the list of ingredients and a paragraph about the product. Both written in incredibly small font, and written in both Italian and English. The box contains your .18oz tube. This tube is much darker than the SPF 7 variety, and I think that’s what attracts me to it more. It’s sexy. It’s dark. It’s mysterious. The tube boasts the Acca Kappa brand name, and the product name in both Italian and English. There’s a long list of ingredients in, of course, impossibly tiny font. It’s an attractive tube, and I like it a lot.

TEXTURE/GLIDE: Like buttah. This glide is smooth, and silky, and dare I say it, perfect. The texture is creamy and soft and feels so good on the lips.

SMELL/FLAVOR: This is my absolute favorite thing about this lip balm. Sniffing the balm in the tube, you think “baby powder”. It’s nice, but not too nice, especially if you’re not into smelling like a baby’s bottom. However, once applied, this stuff smells like this one AXE deoderant. Musky, and baby powdery, and very manly. And okay, that sounds weird and I’m sure most of you don’t really want your lips smelling like a man’s armpit, but — and I’m not sure you’ve quite gathered this yet — I’m a freak. I am a sucker for musky man smell, and if I have that sitting under my nose all the live long day, I am one happy freakin’ camper.

LASTING POWER: About two hours or so. If you’re spending the whole day in the sun, you’re going to want to be reapplying this stuff regularly. But I promise it keeps your lips soft, and that smell alone makes me want to reapply. A lot.

INGREDIENTS: I can’t find the ingredients on the website, and I can’t read them off the packaging.

ANYTHING ELSE: SPF 30, yo.

OVERALL: I have this almost uncontrollable urge to squeal every single time I use this lip balm. Between the way it smells, and the way it feels, and what it does for my lips, I will go ahead and dub this lip balm as the most dreamy lip balm I’ve ever used. Perfect for those lonely beach days, and all you want is to be laying on a towel next to Mr. Tanned-And-Toned, listening to the waves. This lip balm won’t make him appear, but if you close your eyes, you just might smell him.
