Believe it or not, I am a bit of a girly geek. I am pretty big into gaming, reading comic books/graphic novels, looking at action figures (I was huge into actually collecting them once upon a time), playing Magic: The Gathering.. Amongst other things that might be too embarrassing to mention here. My geekiness would be the reason why I was absolutely tickled to discover Geek Bliss. Lip balm for geeks! How exciting!
PRICE: $3.00 at Geek Bliss. There are also “value packs” available if you just skip on over to that page.
PACKAGING: I love these tubes. I’m just throwing that out there right away. This is your standard sized BLACK tube. I love black tubes! The labels are absolutely NERDY as well, but that’s cool ’cause that’s the whole idea! The brand and product names are written on a binary background. Let me just say that I love how “Geek Bliss” is written in a very pixelated, geeky “game font”, and “lip balm” is written in a nice flowy cursive font. The contrast between the two is so appealing. Love it. Anyway, underneath is the balm name, and written beneath that is the actual flavor. This idea is fantastic, because how many times do you have a lip balm that’s named something like “Flirting with Greg Brady in the Summer Sun” and you have NO CLUE what it is your smearing on your lips? Okay, maybe not that title specifically, but you know what I mean. I like that the wonderful Cyberdelia actually clarifies. Very nice touch.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The glide is awesome. Very smooth, easily glides right on without being too slippery. The texture is creamy and a bit on the light side but not horribly.
SMELL/FLAVOR: I have this in three flavors: Dragoncon Dreamin’ (peppermint), Tru Love (southern spice), and Reality Sucks (chocolate). Dragoncon Dreamin’ is a very crisp, natural peppermint that tingles slightly on the lips. Tru Love is very cinnamony and awesome, and actually plumps a little bit. This one might irritate some people with more sensitive lips, but I love that mild burn-y feeling. Mmm.. Reality Sucks is a really great chocolate scent. Very sweet. It reminds me of the chocolate cream Tums my boyfriend has in his medicine cabinet. I could eat those things like candy. Not even joking.
LASTING POWER: Well, it is a little on the light side, so it only lasts about an hour or so. But I really don’t mind reapplying.
INGREDIENTS: I can’t find a complete list of ingredients, but I assure you, they’re natural and good for you.
OVERALL: I love these. A lot. I love the creativity that goes into making these. I love the flavors, I love how well they moisturize, I love how I can “relate” to them, and I even love how easy Cyberdelia is to talk to. These are awesome, and I encourage geeks and non-geeks alike to check these out!
