One day I plan on getting married to the man of my dreams, who just so happens to be my boyfriend. I don’t want a traditional wedding. I don’t want the white gown (I actually have visions of a red & black wedding dress, regardless of how taboo that might be), I don’t want the huge ceremony, I don’t want the ginormous reception party, I don’t want to throw my bouquet, and I certainly don’t want to show off my legs with the whole garter thing. I’m a private person, I’m not big into tradition, and I can totally do without all of that bologna.
However, I do want favors for the people that I do invite to my super exclusive VIP wedding shindig. I want a Fall wedding (preferably on Halloween, being the creepy sort of gal that I am), and being so close to the cooler months and being a Balmaholic, why not have some “Favors With Flavors”?
GCD Spa specializes in classy, and adorable!, favors for parties and weddings. I’ve recently had the pleasure of trying out some of the lip balms, and I am hooked. Perhaps she’ll be providing the favors for my own wedding one day..
PRICE: $2.75 each at GCD Spa
PACKAGING: A cute white .25oz pot with a screw-on cap. Each little pot features a label on the top, with the flavor name and a picture associated with the flavor. On the bottom is a list of ingredients. The labels are, however, customizable if you choose to use them as favors for a party which I think is pretty nifty. My only complaint about the packaging is that the opening of the little pot is just a tad small, making it a little hard to actually get the balm out. I’d definitely prefer it in a tube (which I know for a fact, because I have one flavor in a tube), but I think it might lose some of it’s physical appeal that way.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: Gliding it on with my finger was actually easier than I expected it to be. It’s very, very light and smooth. I really love the feeling of it on my lips.
SMELL/FLAVOR: There are a ton of flavors to choose from, and I do love a company with a huge selection, although that makes my poor brain hurt from trying to decide what to choose. I currently have five, ‘though I plan to buy more (probably many more). Pina Colada is spot-on. No joke. It’s a pina colada in balm form. Pink Champagne is a bubbly, sweet, champagne-y smell that’s very light and very good. Moonlight is a seriously unique flavor. Light, fruity, slighty apple-y, and slightly lemon-y. It’s hard to describe, but take my word for it when I say it’s good. Stardust is another unique flavor, blending pineapple, peach, citrus, and grenadine. It’s light and fruity. Cupcake absolutely floored me. I have never had a lip balm that was so close to the way an actual cupcake smells. I can smell the cake batter and icing, and it kind of makes me hungry. I really need more of these.
LASTING POWER: The lasting power isn’t too impressive, which was slightly disappointing at first. It lasts about forty-five minutes, an hour at most. But honestly? The more I think about it, the more I don’t want it to last longer. I constantly want to sample all of the flavors, and if they lasted longer than that, I’d just end up wiping it off.
ANYTHING ELSE: Moisturizing as all hell. The second I apply, I literally feel it sinking into my lips. Two thumbs up.
OVERALL: This balm has gained a spot on my list of all-time favorites. It’s cute, it smells incredible, it feels great, and they won’t break the bank. Hooray for GCD Spa!

(just because it is a little frustrating trying to comfortably get the balm out with my finger)

I’m pretty sure i’m gonna get some of this
Especially because you mentioned that stardust blends a peachy pineappley thing, and if i were to get a lip balm like that, well then i’d just be able to die happy. Kristin(Quote)
I highly recommend them. They’re so ridiculously good.
